Doll Cleaning (new born)

Lovely as they are, the new-born type dolls are often applied with a synthetic fragrance which to me smells like a mixture of baby powder and bath oil. Some find this all very nice, but for me, this smell is artificial and unpleasant.

To clean this doll and reduce the odor somewhat, you need to simply wipe down the vinyl body with nothing more than a damp cloth with lukewarm water.

Don't use the cloth in a wet state as this will inevitably leave brushing and droplet marks which are harder to remove once they have dried on the vinyl. This may seem an obvious point, but this mistake is easily made as I can unfortunately testify to.

The dolls clothes will need washing too - hand-wash these using warm water (not hot) and a mild detergent. Leave to dry naturally by hanging the garments on a clothes hanger inside your home - a warm kitchen works good here.

This will hopefully help reduce that fake new-born smell from your beautiful, and treasured collector doll.
